The Brenau volleyball team hosted a tri-match with Columbia, SC and Toccoa Falls today and came away with a split, losing to Columbia 15-25, 19-25 and 21-25, and defeating Toccoa 25-16, 25-15, and 25-19. Freshman Kelsey Aley (Tallahassee, FL) had her best game of the season against Columbia with 8 kills, 3 digs and 8 blocks. Another freshman, Alexis Arthur, contributed 5 kills, 1 dig and 2 blocks, and sophomore hitter, Meredith Hardin, chipped in with 3 kills, a dig and 5 blocks. In the nightcap, the Tigers took control early and reeled off three straight wins. Junior hitter Karen Green dominated play with 13 kills, 5 assists and 4 aces. Hardin had another nice game (5 kills, 9 blocks and 2 digs), and Aley came back with 5 kills, an assist, 5 blocks and a dig. Junior Audra VanArsdale (2 kills, 17 assists, 3 aces, and 2 blocks) also made a big contribution. Brenau will travel to Shorter for another SSAC matchup on Tuesday.
