The Brenau Golden Tigers (28-21) defeated the Emmanuel softball team (31-21) 3-1 Friday morning to continue on in the winner's bracket at the SSAC Championships. The Tigers pounded out 10 hits, including three by Brooke Borders to lead the entire game. Carrie Brookshire delivered a 2 run double in the fourth inning to provide the winning margin. Missy Herren gets the win, pitching into the 4th inning and giving up one earned run. Marisa Litster came in to pitch the last 3 innings, striking out 3 with no earned runs. Maggie Renfro also went 2-3, with an RBI and scored a run. Colleen Sparrow was 1-3 and scored a run, and Katie Hulsey scored the other run for the Tigers. Brenau will now face regular season champion Shorter in the winner's bracket today at 6 pm.
