As the season draws to a close, the Brenau volleyball team is starting to show signs of life, as evidenced by their match with Southern Wesleyan on Wednesday night at home. Even though they lost in four games, there were long stretches of solid play. They raced out to a 14-4 lead in the first game, only to lose 26-30. That was followed up by a 24-30 loss in game two. The Tigers came back to win game three 30-24, with Shantoria Mayes leading the charge. Mayes recorded 13 kills on the night. SWU won game four 30-23, but there was much to be happy about for Brenau, who clearly played their best match of the season. Audra VanArsdale had 35 assists and 2 aces, Karen Green had 11 kills and 3 blocks, and Meredith Hardin had 5 kills and 4 blocks. Brenau will host a tri-match on Saturday with Brewton Parker and Oglethorpe.
