The Brenau softball team (28-22) gave the #9 Shorter Hawks (46-9) all they wanted Friday night at the SSAC Championships before falling 1-0 in a pitcher's duel. Brenau's Missy Herren threw a 3 hit masterpiece, but gave up a run in the first inning after walking Milford, who scored on Munson's single. Herren only gave up two hits after that, but the damage was done. Brenau managed 4 hits, with Maggie Renfro (2-3), Carrie Brookshire (1-2), and Katie Hulsey (1-3) getting on base, but couldn't push across the needed runs. The Tigers will now play at 11 am Saturday against the winner of the Lee/Emmanuel game, with the winner advancing to the championship game against Shorter at 1 pm.
