The Golden Tigers softball program has added Cassie Lassiter, a pitcher from NCAA Division I Troy University, to its roster for this season. Lassiter, who played one year at Troy has impressive credentials to bring to Brenau. She was a pitcher on the 2007 Junior College Panhandle, Regional, State and National Championship team at Chipola College in Florida. While there, she was an NJCAA and NFCA All American and was named the 2007 conference player of the year. She recorded an astonishing 22 wins against only two losses with an impressive 0.76 ERA. In 2005 her high school team won the 2A State Championship and she was named the 2A State Player of the Year. She was also named as one of the Super12 softball players in Alabama her senior season. "Adding Cassie to our pitching staff should solidify an already talented group. Not only is she a great asset on the mound, but possesses great power from the plate and will help us offensively, as well. We are very lucky to have a player with her credentials at the University." said Coach Devon Thomas.
