Coach Gary Bays has announced the signing of his first recruit for the Fall of 2008 as 6-2 post player Emma Turner from East Jackson Comprehensive High School in Jackson County agreed to attend Brenau in the fall. Turner received the Academic Award for both volleyball and basketball this year, as well as being named the Defensive Player of the Year on the basketball team. She is a Hope Scholar and four year letterwinner. Her high school coach, Amy Larimer, said that Emma is a leader on and off the court and has worked extremely hard to get this opportunity to play at the next level. "It's an honor and a privilege to be accepted into this program and I intend to help build the program," said Turner upon signing her letter of intent. Coach Bays said, "We have addressed one of our pressing needs for more inside presence with this addition and I am pleased with what she brings to the team."
