The Brenau tennis team competed in the Chick-Fil-A Collegiate Championships in Augusta over the weekend. Junior Paula Ghilardotti won the consolation title in the #1 flight, defeating Glebova of Florida Central Community College 6-4, 6-4. She lost to Tatala-Colin of UNC Pembroke, the eventual winner of the championship bracket in the semifinals 6-3, 6-3. Ghilardotti teamed up with Jolene Wong to reach the finals of the doubles tournament, where they lost to the #1 team from Augusta State 8-5. Natalia Aranguren and Shkurte Ejupi reached the finals of the #2 flight, but were forced to retire when Aranguren injured her knee. Wong reached the semi-final of the #2 flight singles, where she lost to Chiaparini (Augusta State). Aranguren advanced to the finals of the #3 flight, where she was eliminated by Angel (USC-Aiken) 7-5, 6-3.
