Freshman Kerry Abernathy played her best match of the season(3 kills, 12 assists, and 6 digs) as the Brenau volleyball team (4-8, 0-8) lost a SSAC game to Columbia, SC (13-7, 3-4) on Saturday. Game scores were 15-25, 15-25, 25-19, and 19-25). There were some other outstanding performances by the Tigers, such as 3 kills and 15 blocks by Sophomore Meredith Hardin. Junior hitter Karen Green came up with 8 kills, 2 assists, 2 aces 12 digs and 8 blocks. Also strong for Brenau were Freshman Alexis Arthur (6 kills, 2 aces, 5 digs and 5 blocks), Junior Audra VanArsdale (2 kills, 5 assists, 2 digs and a block), Sophomore Courtney Frady (6 kills, 1 ace, 5 digs and 4 blocks). Junior Libero Maida Smajic had 27 digs in the match. Next up for Brenau is a non-conference matchup with Piedmont on Tuesday.
