The coaching staff at Brenau University has selected Maida Smajic, a Junior Defensive Specialist on the Tigers volleyball team, as Golden Tiger of the Week for Sept. 30- Oct. 6. Smajic, who hails from Lawrenceville, amassed 51 digs in two SSAC matches last week, including 27 last Saturday at Columbia. She plays the libero position and is often the first player to touch the ball when it is served, which is critical to starting the offense. "Maida's passing and defensive skills have been instrumental in taking our team to a point where we are much more competitive in the SSAC," said Coach Meredith Matthews.
