Middle Georgia Transfer Comes to Brenau Soccer

Alyssa Schmucker, a transfer from Middle Georgia College, will be joining the Brenau Golden Tigers soccer team this fall. She was a GJCAA All Region First Team selection this past season...

The Brenau soccer team has added an outstanding player to the roster for 2008 with the signing of Alyssa Schmucker to a letter of intent last week. Schmucker is transferring from Middle Georgia College, where she was named to the GJCAA All Region First Team in 2007, as well as the All Tournament squad. Additionally, she was her team's Offensive MVP. As a high school senior at Warner Robins HS, she was named the Houston County Player of the Year, as well as First Team All-Region and team Offensive MVP honors in both her junior and senior seasons. Alyssa hails from Cochran and will major in Legal Studies at Brenau. "Alyssa has great speed and quickness and has demonstrated that she is equally effective as an attacker or defender. As a player at the junior college ranks, she has been called on to mark some of the fastest players in the country. As an attacker, she has shown she has the ability to score as well, recording over 40 goals during her last two years of high school. For us, she will most likely play as a wide midfielder shere she can bring much more pace to our attack." said Coach Lochstampfor.
