The Golden Tigers (20-5, 4-4) lost both games of a doubleheader with Lee University (15-10, 5-3) Thursday at Lanier Point in Gainesville. In a battle of two nationally recognized teams, Brenau just wasn't able to get the bats going to produce enough offense to pull off the wins. In the latest NAIA poll, the Flames are ranked #21 and Brenau is receiving votes. In the first game, Missy Herren pitched very well going the distance and striking out 5 batters. Maggie Renfro, Hillyer Flint and Colleen Sparrow all went 1-3 from the plate. Herren also started the second game, but was replaced after one inning by Caitlin Kelly, who recorded 4 K's in six innings of work. Brooke Borders (1-2), Amanda Bills (2-3), Flint (1-3) and Katie Hulsey (1-3) provided the offense. Brenau has a rematch with Greenville, SC Saturday in their next outing.
