The #10 Brenau tennis team (10-9, 5-2) took on the best team in the nation Friday at the Brenau courts and played their best tennis of the season before succumbing 6-3 to Auburn Montgomery (22-0, 6-0). In doubles play, Liubov Orlova and Shkurte Ejupi came away with an 8-4 win against Zuzulova/Dunlavy. In singles matches Jolene Wong won at #2 singles 3-6, 6-4, (10-6) and Ejupi won her second match of the day 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 over Dunlavy. Even though the match goes down as a loss, it was a great effort by the gritty Golden Tigers. Next action will be in a week at the SSAC Championships in Chattanooga.
