Published Mar 22, 2008

The Brenau softball team bounced back from two conference losses Monday to sweep North Greenville, SC 3-0 and 7-2. Coach Devon Thomas recorded his 100th win in the first game and ran his overall coaching record at Brenau to 101-94. Thomas started the program five years ago and has quickly transformed the Golden Tigers into a conference contender. With their current 20-3 mark, which is the best start in program history, Brenau is poised to make a run at the SSAC championship with an early 4-2 conference record. Marisa Litster pitched a complete game in the first game with 7 strikeouts. Nicole Burt (2-3), Brooke Borders (2-4), and Tori Fobb (1-2, 1 RBI) provided the offensive support. Missy Herren also pitched a complete game in the second outing with 4 strikeouts. The offense was provided by Maggie Renfro (3-5), Litster (2-4, 2 run homer), Colleen Sparrow (2-3), Carrie Brookshire (3-4) and Amanda Bills (2-4). Next up for Brenau will be a very important SSAC matchup with #11 Lee University.
