Coach Gabby Matthews announced today the addition of Carrie Minchew to the swim team roster for 2008. Minchew has been swimming competitively for the past seven years with the Chattahoochee Gold under Coach Pat Murphy. She has qualified for Senior State in the butterfly and backstroke events and has NAIA qualifying times in both, as well as the IM's. Carrie has been homeschooled since the first grade and has always been disciplined and self-motivated. She is a hard worker, holding down four jobs, including teach swim lessons to special needs children, during her junior and senior years. She is a Hope Scholar and plans to major in Nursing and minor in English at Brenau.
