The Brenau Golden Tigers (12-10, 5-8) picked up their first SSAC road win of the season Tuesday night with a 61-52 win over Southern Wesleyan (9-13, 4-9) in South Carolina. Sophomore Meg Henson (Gainesville HS) led the way with 13 points, followed closely by Lori Pope with 12 and Tori Collins with 10. Henson and Pope made the most of a shakeup in the lineup that placed them in a starting role. Brenau led from start to finish and roared out to a 39-25 halftime lead fueled by 54% field goal shooting in the half. Southern Wesleyan closed the gap to 49-45 midway through the second half, but Pope hit a big three to push the advantage to seven and Brenau controlled it from there. Next action for the Tigers is another road game in South Carolina on Thursday as they take on Columbia College.
