Brenau Basketball Lands Top JC Transfer

Published Jun 24, 2008

The Brenau basketball team picked up a top junior college transfer with the signing of Ashley Hagans from Georgia Perimeter College. GPC is considered one of the top junior college programs in women's basketball. In Ashley's freshman season, the team was region, state and district champions, advancing all the way to the NJCAA National Tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas. Hagans played her high school basketball at Shiloh High School, where she was the Gwinnett Club Tip-Off Player of the Month on two separate occasions. Ashley's parents are Cordian and Shawna Hagans, and her sister, Courtney, graduated from Brenau in 2006. She will major in Art Education at Brenau. "I chose Brenau because of the environment, and the people were very nice. The basketball team made me feel comfortable and made me want to be a part of it." said Hagans at her signing. "We have added a proven player who has the ability to score and create her own shot. Her overall talent and experience will help us take our game to the next level." said Coach Gary Bays.
