After 15 hours of tennnis in two days, the Brenau Golden Tigers defeated two ranked opponents to push their season record to 10-7. The Shorter Blast Off Tournament was the occasion and Brenau opened things up with a convincing 5-0 victory of #17 Union, KY. All three doubles teams were winners and Liubov Orlova and Paula Ghilardotti finished things off in singles play. After a short rest, the Tigers came back to face #14 Bethel, TN and were defeated 6-3. Diana Cardenas and Natalia Aranguren won their singles matches, but only one of the doubles teams was able to get a win. The opponent for Saturday's finale was #21 Georgetown, KY and the match was a close one, with the Tigers coming out on top 5-4. The doubles teams of Ghilardotti/Aranguren and Orlova/Shkurte Ejupi both won 9-8 in tiebreakers. Cardenas, Orlova and Ejupi all won in singles to secure the win.
