Lake Lanier, despite low water levels, still offers a great fishing experience. While on a guided fishing trip with long-time Lake Lanier professional fishing guide Harold Nash of Harold Nash Lake Lanier Striper & Bass Fishing Guide Service (www.lanierfishingguide.com) in late January 2008, an excited Harold Nash client boated a magnificent trophy 36 1/2 pound Lake Lanier striped bass. This great hard fighting fish measured 40 1/2 inches long and was taken on light spinning tackle, 8 pound test line, and an artificial lure. Despite much negative publicity concerning Lake Lanier’s low water levels, fishing has remained very good and, in fact, on the guided day that produced the 36 1/2 pound trophy, customers also boated eight other stripers up to 20 pounds, three spotted bass, and two largemouth bass.
In 27 years of operating his professional Lake Lanier fishing guide business, Harold Nash customers have taken striped bass weighing 43 pounds, largemouth bass weighing 11 1/2 pounds, and near State record spotted bass weighing 7 3/4 pounds. Also, in all those 27 years of professionally guiding clients on world renowned Lake Lanier, Harold Nash has identified the months of February and March as clearly the year’s best for both trophy stripers and trophy bass and he projects that February and March will again be the most exceptionally productive time this year, also. Of unusual note, too, is that Harold Nash exclusively does only genuine sportfishing trips that legitimately emphasize and employ the most exciting, challenging, fair, sporting, and rewarding elements of trophy sportfishing. Harold Nash Lake Lanier Striper & Bass Fishing Guide Service offers the absolute best in year around Lake Lanier fishing guide trips for businesses, families, friends, and all others interested in top quality guided fishing outings. He also has three exceptional children, one of whom was a star Division I college pitcher who was a Dean’s List student majoring in biology and business. Another received a master’s degree from the University of Georgia’s prestigious Executive MBA program, was on staff at UGA, and is now pursuing a doctorate degree. And his youngest is a superior athlete and very talented.
