Georgia U.S. Senate Candidates Saxby Chambliss, Jim Martin and Allen Buckley will speak at State Farm’s Candidate Forum on Monday, September 29, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the State Farm® Atlanta Operations Center in Duluth.
State Farm’s Candidate Forum marks one of the first opportunities for voters to hear from the candidates vying for one of Georgia’s top posts. The company is anticipating a large crowd of their agents and employees to attend this event, including Southern Zone Senior Vice President Tim McFadden. “State Farm encourages every associate to participate in the political process. Presenting these candidates will help our agents and employees become more informed on the issues, determine what the candidates are about and vote on November 4,” said McFadden.
The Voter Education division of Fulton County will also be on site to register permanent Georgia residents to vote in the November 4 general elections.
The State Farm Candidate Forum is a long-standing event the company hosts each election year. In past years, the company’s Atlanta Operations Center has hosted such candidates as current U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson, U.S. Representatives John Linder and Tom Price, as well as current Governor Sonny Perdue and Lt. Governor Casey Cagle.
State Farm does not endorse specific candidates or parties. The company also does not make political contributions. However it will, at times, take a stand on an issue if it affects State Farm employees and/or customers. When State Farm asks agents and employees to join the company in a specific legislative cause, it's always voluntary and nonpartisan.
