America Scores Cup Atlanta Kicks into Action Oct. 15.

Published Jul 30, 2008

Do you and your soccer-fanatic colleagues have what it takes to become the Trammell Crow Residential America SCORES Cup champions?  Find out when corporate soccer teams from across the metro Atlanta area compete in this fundraising tournament for the benefit of America SCORES Atlanta on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008.

A 10 a.m. kick-off on Oct. 18 will set in motion the exhilarating day of activities for SCORES Cup Atlanta, a 7v.7 co-ed soccer tournament benefiting the America SCORES Atlanta program. Held at the Georgia Soccer Park, a premier soccer facility located at 3895 Ben Hill Road in East Point, the tournament will draw teams from businesses and professional service firms across the metro area for a day of friendly competition in support of this great cause, providing after-school soccer and creative writing programs to public elementary school students in Atlanta.

Last year’s inaugural field included the support of Kimberly-Clark, King & Spalding, Frazier & Deeter, Ted’s Montana Grill and Hewitt Associates. This year, SCORES anticipates 16 teams to compete from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in a quest for the bragging rights and the title of Trammell Crow Residential America SCORES Cup Atlanta Champions. A trophy presentation to the winning team will conclude the day’s events.

"The Cup provides a fun way for corporate employees to cheer each other on and to build team spirit while making a positive difference in the community. This is our unique opportunity to have our local partners build teamwork of their own as America SCORES Atlanta attracts the critical funding support that will help us to combat two of our nation's most serious challenges— the obesity and low literacy of our youth,” said Executive Director Janine Lindsay.
