Gainesville Police Department has Identified Remains

Published Mar 23, 2008

With assistance of the Georgia Bureau of Investigations (G.B.I.) the Gainesville Police Department has identified the human skeletal remains that were discovered on Thursday, March 13, 2008, at approximately 9:20 a.m. by city workers in a wooded area near the intersection of Pine Street at Summit Street.

Researching an identification document that was found on the remains, investigators were able to recover dental records that were used to identify the remains.  The individual has been identified as Parker Edward Teaver Jr., 54 years old of Gainesville, GA.

The G.B.I. crime lab is still examining Mr. Teaver’s remains to determine if a cause of death can be established and how long he may have been in the wooded area.  It does not appear that there are any readily observable indications that foul play is involved in the death of Mr. Teaver.

This incident is still under investigation by members of the Gainesville Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division.
