Blue Bird Houses

Published Jun 12, 2008

If you’re trying to come up with a way to memorialize a loved one at Alta Vista Cemetery you might want to donate a Blue Bird house. Alta Vista Superintendent, Vince Evans, says several people have already donated houses and the blue bird population keeps growing. Each house lasts 3-5 years so more are always needed. Most of the houses are hanging on the fence by the cemetery. The one pictured here was donated by Lorraine Davis in loving memory of her grandmother Gussie Campbell Owens (1900-1996) as evidenced by the plaque on the side of the house. For more information on how you can donate a blue bird house call Alta Vista Cemetery at 770-535-6883.
