The Gainesville Police Department is still investigating the Burglary that occurred on January 31st 2008 at the business of Gainesville Jewelry located at 1020 Jesse Jewell Parkway.
After learning that several individuals had been arrested in Lowndes County and also in Butts County, investigators from the Gainesville Police Department were sent to both locations.
Investigators have learned that three (3) of these individuals were in fact involved with the burglary of Gainesville Jewelry. At the time of this release investigators with the Gainesville Police Department have secured warrants for all three subjects as follows:
1. Omar Plasencia, 30 years old of Miami, FL. He is charged with one count of Burglary, one count of Possession of Burglary Tools and one count of Criminal Damage in the 2nd Degree.
2. David Allen Lynch, 23 years old of Miami, FL. He is charged with one count of Burglary, one count of Possession of Burglary Tools and one count of Criminal Damage in the 2nd Degree.
3. Daphete Cooper, 21 years old of Mableton, GA. He is charged with one count of Burglary, one count of Possession of Burglary Tools and one count of Criminal Damage in the 2nd Degree.
Plasencia and Lynch are currently being held in the Butts County Jail. Cooper is currently being held in the Lowndes County Jail. There are two (2) other individuals being held in the Lowndes County Jail on charges unrelated to the commission of the burglary but related to the possession of stolen property from the burglary.
All the jewelry will remain with the Butts and Lowndes County Sheriff’s Offices pending ownership verification. It is unknown when the three (3) men will be transferred to Hall County to answer to the above listed charges.
The connection these individuals have in the burglary of Dimo’s Fine Jewelry is still under investigation.
