New Signal Operational Next Week, SR 75 @ Hulsey Rd in Cleveland

Published Feb 21, 2008

Georgia DOT announces a new traffic signal at State Route 75 and Hulsey Road in Cleveland. The signal went into test mode yesterday and weather permitting should be operational Tuesday, February 26th.
“Each intersection goes through an intensive review to determine if the intersection meets the Federal guidelines for the installation of a traffic signal.  The intersection of State Route 75 and Hulsey Road met the requirements. Testing of the signal began yesterday. If the testing goes well and weather permits, the signal will be operational by mid-morning on the 26th,” said DOT District Engineer Russell McMurry.
If weather is inclement, the signal will be turned on Wednesday, February 27, 2008.  DOT and the White County Sheriff’s Office will monitor the area to ensure that drivers are following the new stop situation.
“Please slow down through the area and use extra caution until you get familiar with the new signal location. Remember to watch out for other drivers until they get used to the new signal too! We don’t want you to be part of a crash because you weren’t paying attention and didn’t notice the new traffic signal,” said DOT Board Chairman Mike Evans.
