New Signal Operational Next Thusday, 20th SR 10/Us 78 @ Kroger Drive in Loganville

Published Mar 14, 2008

Georgia DOT announces a new traffic signal at State Route 10/US 78 and Kroger Drive in Loganville. The signal begins test mode today and weather permitting should be operational Thursday, March 20th.

Each intersection goes through an intensive review to determine if the intersection meets the Federal guidelines for the installation of a traffic signal.  The intersection of State Route 10 and Kroger Drive met the requirements. Testing of the signal begins today and if the testing goes well and weather permits, the signal will be operational by mid-morning on the 20th.  If weather is inclement, the signal will be turned on Tuesday, March, 25th 2008.  DOT and the Walton County Sheriff’s Office will monitor the area to ensure that drivers are following the new stop situation.

“Please slow down through the area and use extra caution until you get familiar with the new signal location. Remember to watch out for other drivers until they get used to the new signal too! We don’t want you to be part of a crash because you weren’t paying attention and didn’t notice the new traffic signal,” said DOT District Engineer Russell McMurry.

Georgia DOT urges travelers to call 511 for updated information about this or any other construction project on interstates and state routes. Georgia 511 is a free phone service that provides real-time traffic and travel information statewide, such as traffic conditions, incidents, lane closures, and delays due to inclement weather.
