The two individuals involved in the stabbing incident that occurred in the 300 block of Lee St. on July 6, 2008 at approximately 2:52 a. m. have been identified as; Lalo Gomez, 35 years old, of Gainesville, Ga. and Henry Velasquez Pineda, 36 years old of Gainesville, Ga.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that both subjects are roommates and that they became involved in a verbal argument at their home. The verbal argument escalated to the point of each stabbing the other.
Both males were transported via ambulance to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center at the time of the incident for treatment of stab wounds received during the altercation. Velasquez Pineda is currently listed in stable condition at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center and Gomez is currently listed in critical condition at the same facility.
The Gainesville Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is continuing its investigation into the incident. At this time no charges have been filed against either subject.
