I-985 at Exit 16 in Oakwood lane closures are planned during the day and overnights Monday through Thursday so crews can set the new bridge beams for I-985 over SR 53/Mundy Mill Road.
Daily Monday through Thursday the inside or left lane of I-985 northbound will be closed for about a mile starting just north of the Welcome Center starting at 9:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m.. Crews will be unloading bridge beams that will be set overnight.
Overnights Monday and Tuesday crews will set beams over SR 53/Mundy Mill Road from 8:00p p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the next morning. One lane of Mundy Mill Road in each direction will be closed under the interstate from Frontage Road to Wallis Road. The one lane of traffic will be shifted so that crews can set the beams without traffic flowing underneath the work. Monday night traffic will be shifted over to run in the westbound lanes of the road. Tuesday night traffic will run in the westbound lanes of the road.
