The Gainesville Police have arrested and charged a subject who committed an Armed Robbery at the Quick Trip Convenience Store earlier this morning. At 1:44 a.m. Officers with the Gainesville Police Department were called to the business located at 897 West Ridge Road regarding a black male that had robbed the store clerk at gunpoint.
The clerk reported that the black male had been loitering in the business until all other customers left the store. At that point the black male approached the clerk, brandished a firearm at him and stole money from the store’s register and left the location on foot.
Upon the officer’s arrival at the location, they deployed a Police
K-9 and successfully tracked the suspect to a location off of Cooley Drive. The suspect was found hiding in some bushes behind a residence and he was immediately taken into custody.
The arrested is identified as Ronald Levi Miller, 45 years old of Gainesville, Ga. Miller is charged with one count of Armed Robbery, one count of Aggravated Assault, one count of Theft by Taking and one Count of Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substance Act for a Crack Pipe that was found in his possession.
The money taken in the robbery was recovered from the suspect and the clerk was not injured in the incident.
The motive for the robbery is unknown at this time.
