Garnett Baugh, a Vietnam War Veteran, received his high school diploma from the Hall County Board of Education at the November 10, 2008 business meeting.  Board Chair Richard Higgins presented Mr. Baugh with his diploma, thanking him, on behalf of the Board, for his service to our country.  Garnett Baugh had been a student at East Hall High School in the early sixties, but interrupted his high school education to enlist to serve in the Vietnam Conflict.  The Board acted in accordance with Georgia Law (code 20-2-70), which states, "Each local board of education shall issue high school diplomas to veterans who failed to receive diplomas due to interruption of their education by service in the Korean Conflict or service in the Vietnam Conflict."
