If you live near Ridgewood Avenue I’d like to invite you to some very important meetings that will help shape the future of this historic Gainesville neighborhood.
Building on the success of the Fair Street/Chestnut Street Neighborhood Planning Unit (NPU), the City’s Department of Planning and Development will be initiating its second NPU in September. The targeted area is in and around Ridgewood Avenue. The initial boundaries of this NPU include Green Street to the east, Academy Street to the south, Ivey Terrace/Wilshire Road to the west and just south of Dixon Drive to the north.
The purpose of the NPU is to perform micro-level planning for the City’s in-town neighborhoods. A number of meetings will be held over the next year to identify issues facing the area and ultimately the development and implementation of goals and objectives that are specific to the NPU. Community input is a critical step in this process and we look forward to hearing from you. We will announce the meeting dates very shortly.
If you have any questions about the Ridgewood Avenue NPU email citycouncil@gainesville.org or call me at 770-532-7207.
