On June 7, 2008 around 12:10am, Officers responded to 805 Dawsonville Highway to the business of Sonic for a report of an Armed Robbery.  The caller advised a subject entered the restaurant wearing a dark colored ski mask and demanded the money while pointing a handgun at them.  The subject then reportedly ran on foot towards the Shallowford Rd area.  An officer spotted the subject walking in the parking lot of a business nearby within moments of the call. The officer recovered the weapon from the robbery and a sum of cash. No one was injured during the robbery.

(1) Richard Lewis Hicks of Gainesville, 21 years of age, charged with Armed Robbery.
