Gainesville Police have arrested 23-year-old Liz Beth Gomez-Ramos on two counts of cruelty to children after police say she left her 2 young children in her hot
car while she went into the court house. Liz Beth left a 3-year-old and a 5-year-old inside a hot van with the windows up and unattended, and now she is in jail facing felony child cruelty charges. Her children were taken to the hospital for treatment as they suffered from dehydration and were later released to their father.
Ramos had parked in the Gainesville downtown square around 815 AM and went into the nearby courthouse to be arraigned on a driving without a license citation. It was nearly 2 hours later before someone noticed the children and called police. A cooler and numerous bottles of water were found inside the van
