The American Lung Association, along with the American Heart Association and American Cancer Society, will host “Ten Years After the Master Settlement Agreement: A Georgia Tobacco Policy Symposium” on Thursday, October 9, 2008 at the Loudermilk Center in downtown Atlanta. Featured speakers include Georgia Attorney General Thurbert Baker, Sen. Don Thomas and Rep. Debbie Buckner, Dr. Matt McKenna with CDC's Office on Smoking or Health, Michael Eriksen, Director of the Institute of Public Health at Georgia State University, Allen Essig with the Georgia Budget & Policy Institute and Danny McGoldrick with the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids. The conference will examine where we were then and where we are now-----progress and missed opportunities.
