Gainesville-Hall County Community Service Center Director, Phillippa Lewis Moss, announced today that National Accreditation status has been granted to the Senior Life Center. The center, which has served the community since 1971, is the first Sr. Center in Georgia to receive National Accreditation. “The National Institute of Senior Centers’ National Accreditation process began in February 2007. Since then, our staff and several community leaders have been working around the clock to make this happen. Accreditation is based on compliance with nine standards of senior center operations developed by the National Institute of Senior Centers," Moss said.

The Senior Life Center is open Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. to persons 60 years of age or older who reside in Hall County. As a wellness and nutrition site, the Senior Life Center features a cardio fitness room, weekly exercise classes, Tai Chi, blood pressure screenings, and a nutritional hot lunch…all at no cost to the participant. The Sr. Life Center is located at 430 Prior Street in Gainesville.
