WHAT: It’s the 2nd annual www.IWillMakeADifference.com Big Wheel Rally! The I Will Make A Difference Foundation, Gary Martin Hays & Associates, the Gwinnett Gladiators and the Georgia Force are proud to present this year’s Relay benefiting Dream House for Medically Fragile Children, Inc. Gary and four of his best buds will be saddling up on adult-sized big wheels for a three-day ride around the clock, piling up Dream Laps and donations for a special group of Georgia’s kids in need of a helping hand. Radio sponsor is The Bull and morning show host Cledus T. Judd is a part of supporting this effort.
Giving for Dream House for Medically Fragile Children is down 90% from this time last year, yet these needy children and their families desperately require the support only Dream House for Medically Fragile Children provides. All donations and proceeds from the event are given 100% to Dream House for Medically Fragile Children.
WHEN: Friday, February 29–Sunday, March 2, 2008, starting at 4 p.m. Friday. At least one member of the Big Wheel Rally Team will be riding at all times, 24-hours-a-day, over the weekend.
WHERE: The Arena at Gwinnett, on the Concourse. The weekend is packed with excitement, as the Arena Football League’s Georgia Force take the field in their season opener against the rival Dallas Desperadoes at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 1, in a nationally televised game.
MEDIA: 94.9 The Bull will feature Dream House family stories throughout the Rally.
LEVELS OF GIVING:
$9.49 per month – Dreams Do Come True Level (in gratitude for each healthy child in your family)
$94.9 – Making a Difference – Sponsor
$949 – Dream Builders
TO GIVE: Go to www.IWillMakeADifference.com and click on "Donate" or or Dial 1 (800) Win-Win1 (946-9461) to donate by phone.
Then, stay with us as the crew switch out turf for ice as the ECHL’s high-flying Gwinnett Gladiators hit the rink against division leaders Texas Wildcatters. The puck drops at 7:35 p.m. in this exciting match-up between the no.1 and no. 2 ranked teams in the league’s hotly contested American Conference South Division. The doors open an hour before game time, and the first 1,000 fans through the gate will receive a beautiful adult Gwinnett Gladiators replica jersey, courtesy of Gary Martin Hays & Associates and Race Trac!
But the fun doesn’t stop there. Sunday, March 2, features one last Gladiators scrimmage against the Wildcatters before they head back to the Lone Star State (hopefully O-fer the road!). Game time is 4:35 p.m. and intermission will feature the Dream House for Medically Fragile Children benefit event.
Gary and the team will be riding around the concourse throughout the weekend and during the games. You can keep track of the Rally’s progress on the Arena’s Jumbotron as Dream House counts the laps and the donations coming in.
WHY: The I Will Make A Difference Foundation has chosen to give the proceeds of this year’s Big Wheel Rally to Dream House for Medically Fragile Children, Inc. A statewide resource, Dream House gives children with complicated medical conditions a chance to be part of a loving home where they are valued and cared for effectively, in their own homes. Many Georgia families are financially or logistically unable, and sometimes unwilling, to provide a proper environment for kids with long-term healthcare issues. Dream House offers unique programs and services that enable families to care for these children in their own homes, and empowers communities to help keep families together. Dream House is committed to giving these kids a chance to grow up outside of a hospital, in as normal and happy an environment as possible. Please join us in helping to make Georgia a better place for those in our community who have been dealt the toughest hands of all.
WHO: The Rally team members are all part of the I Will Make A Difference Foundation and friends of Dream House. The five-member team is: Gary Martin Hays, Gary’s brother and associate Derek Hays, associates Philip Milam and Eric Ripper, and firm videographer Tim Cicciarelli. These men will be wearing themselves out for Dream House. Gwinnett Gladiators mascot Maximus and his cub cohort Minimus will preside over the Rally. Maximus may have a lion’s heart when he’s cheering on the Gladiators, but he has a heart of gold when it comes to the kids. While Minimus looks fierce in the stands, don’t worry; she’s as gentle as a housecat. Fox 5 will also send out Road Warrior Mark Hyman to cover event preparation on Thursday, February 28.
