Gwinnett Technical College and Price Industries, headquartered in Suwanee, have entered into an agreement that will provide training for Price employees through the college's Quick Start division.
Price Industries, a worldwide supplier of air distribution products and services, is expanding and will open a new manufacturing facility in Winder. This new expansion will cover 90,000 square feet and contain state-of-the-art manufacturing technology and equipment. The new facility will manufacture a wide variety of air distribution products utilizing just-in-time processes to deliver high quality components to their customers.
To aid in the transition of the new expansion, Price Industries has partnered with Georgia Quick Start to develop a comprehensive program to help train Price's new employees.
Quick Start is Georgia's internationally acclaimed economic development program that provides customized workforce training at no cost to qualified new, expanding and existing businesses in Georgia. Since 1967, Quick Start has trained more than 600,000 employees through 5,100 projects with a broad range of industries.
"We look forward to embarking on this new venture with Price Industries, an industry leader, to help train and educate its Gwinnett-area workforce though the college's Quick Start program," said Gwinnett Tech President Sharon Bartels. "Price's strong focus on customer service is a hallmark of the company, and we are pleased to be supporting them in their growth and their consistent efforts to deliver great service through a highly-trained team."
The Price organization, founded in 1946, was first established as a sales company. Price's manufacturing endeavors arose from the belief that it could supply superior products and services at a competitive price. Customer service has always been a vital priority. Dependable quality, reliable delivery and knowledgeable follow-up service have made Price a market leader in supplying air distribution products and related equipment.
Manufacturing facilities in Canada and the USA, as well as a distribution network encompassing Canada, USA, selected European, Middle East and Asia Pacific countries attest to the ever expanding horizons of Price.
The Quick Start training agreement was developed based on a Project Study that was conducted at Price Industries U.S. Headquarters in Suwanee. The training agreement is based on Price Industries commitment to provide approximately 50 new jobs for Georgians in the Barrow County area. Quick Start will be designing and developing training material, as well as providing instructors, for the classes.
The training program involves four distinct partners: Price Industries, Lanier and Gwinnett Technical Colleges and Quick Start. Each partner will be responsible for the successful completion of this program. The partnership will not end when the Quick Start training is completed. Lanier and Gwinnett Technical Colleges will be available to assist Price Industries with ongoing training programs.
