Cumming, GA (March 22, 2007) - Hometown Times Inc. (HTT), the leading local internet newspaper in the Southeast, announced its growth plans through founder Steve Carter who is also president of CummingHome.com. According to Carter, who founded CummingHome.com almost four years ago, “Our ultimate goal is to become the dominant local community internet newspaper in the United States.”
Carter added that while currently there are 12 online newspapers, the immediate plan is to grow to 150 sites, and then to 800 sites nationwide. At that point, network earnings are expected to support the growth to 2,000 online newspaper sites in all 50 states. “Through outside capital funding, we plan to first blanket the northern half of Atlanta,” explained Carter. “We will then add additional resources, including sales management, local editors/reporters and technical personnel.”
President Jim Harrell also indicated that the funding will be used to develop enhanced reader participation features to further increase readership and local content. Said Harrell, “We believe that readers want timely and relevant local news and wish to express their opinions in the community in which they live. That’s what HTT online newspapers are all about -- being the citizens’ newspaper. And we are committed to ensuring that our HTT online newspapers serve and energize communities throughout the USA.”
