Atlanta Executive Coach Wins National Award

Published Apr 5, 2008

Sandy Springs resident Beth Miller has been named Rookie of the Year by Vistage, the international CEO consulting organization for which she serves as a group Chair in metro-Atlanta. Vistage provides valuable team-based and individual coaching services for CEOs and key corporate executives in the areas of finance, marketing, human resources, legal, logistical and operational issues. Miller, an executive and leadership development coach, was one of only 12 Vistage Chairs selected from among a nationwide group for the Rookie of the Year honor.

Each year, Vistage shows its appreciation to new Chairs who demonstrate exceptional commitment and success as they build at least one coaching group in their first 12 months with Vistage. Vistage chairs come from all corners of the country and provide a wide range of personalities and strategies to build groups, integrate new members and provide productive one-to-ones coaching sessions for CEOs managing companies or organizations exceeding $5 Million in annual revenues.

“Every veteran Chair knows the huge obstacles and challenges faced by a rookie Chair,” Greg Wells, Vistage Chief of Sales & Regional Operations, said. “The achievements of these rookie honorees are a great testament to their energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the Vistage experience.”

Rookie of the Year award recipients are selected by the Vistage Field Operations Executive Team, with input from select staff at Vistage headquarters in San Diego. This year’s Rookie awards were given to new Chairs who completed their initial 12 months of coaching a new Vistage group by the end of the calendar year 2007 and whose groups average 12 or more members during that time, with only one member turnover. In addition, the Selections Committee weighs a nominee’s community and corporate engagement.

Miller was the only honoree selected from Georgia; Vistage has 350 group Chairs throughout the US, with 14 serving the Atlanta area.

“I’m very honored to receive Rookie of the Year,” said Miller. “Building the winning team took a lot of hard work and I am thankful for great group members who are very supportive of me and the Vistage program.” Miller coaches three groups for Vistage: two groups of CEOs and one Key Executive Group. She estimates that since joining Vistage in October of 2006, she has conducted more than 1500 hours of coaching her team members in monthly group settings and individual coaching sessions. Her groups are comprised of CEOs and senior executives from professional service organizations, manufacturing, healthcare, legal, business valuation, importing, distribution and logistics firms.

“The Vistage method essentially gives these top executives an independent advisory board, free of competitors,” she said. “It is a safe place to discuss front-and-center business issues and to get help with specific follow-up if needed.”

Combining over 25 years of business experience in both the Fortune 500 and entrepreneurial worlds, Ms. Miller brings her own learning from both worlds to help CEOs and business leaders drive toward their goals both personally and professionally. She graduated from Babson College with a BSBA in Finance and completed additional MBA course work in Marketing at Babson. In 2001, she completed Harvard Business School’s Owner-President Management Program. She is also a member of Leadership Atlanta’s class of 2004. Miller has received numerous awards including Business to Business’s Diva Award in 2000 and Georgia Trend’s 40 under 40 in 1998.
