Northeast Georgia Moutains Travel Association April Meeting Notice

LOCATION:  NE Georgia History Museum

 

TIME:    Board Meeting – 10:00 AM & General Meeting – 12 Noon

 

COST FOR LUNCH:  $12 per person

 

PROGRAM:  The Chattahoochee National Forest is an extremely important resource for the tourism industry in the Northeast Georgia Mountains .  Our keynote speaker, Alan Polk, District Ranger of Brasstown and Toccoa Ranger Districts will give us an update on the Chattahoochee National Forest .  He will give us information on changing times and changing management techniques, while addressing “Today’s Reality, Tomorrow’s Challenge” on undeveloped recreation.

 

The Northeast Georgia Mountains Travel Association April program also will include presentations on the Official State Travel Guide from Jill Teter and the Georgia Dream Pass from our Northeast Georgia Rep., Cheryl Smith.

FROM THE NORTH:

·         (Dahlonega, Lumpkin County ) Take 60 South into Gainesville . Continue down Green Street . Take first road to the left past the Gainesville Post Office which is Academy Street .  The Northeast Georgia History Center is located on the right. The parking entrance is on your right adjacent to the History Center .

·         ( Cleveland , White County ) Take 129 South into Gainesville .  Continue down Green Street to Academy Street and take a left.  The Northeast Georgia History Center is located on the right.  The parking entrance is on your right adjacent to the History Center .

 

FROM THE SOUTH: ( Gwinnett County ) Take 985 North to exit 22, turn left on Hwy. 129 North.  Go approximately 3 miles to Academy Street and take a right. The Northeast Georgia History Center is located on the right. The parking entrance is on your right adjacent to the History Center .

 

FROM THE WEST: (Dawsonville) From 400 take Hwy. 53 East into Gainesville . Continue on 53 East which becomes John Morrow Jr. Parkway . Go to Jesse Jewell Parkway and take a left.  Go to E.E. Butler Parkway (Hwy. 129 North) and take a left. Go to Academy Street and take a right. The Northeast Georgia History Center is on the right. The parking entrance is on your right adjacent to the History Center .

 

FROM THE EAST:  ( Clarkesville , GA ) Take 365 South which becomes 985 South into Gainesville .  Take a right at exit 24.  Go approximately 3 miles to E.E. Butler Parkway (Hwy. 129 North) take a right and go to Academy Street take another right. The Northeast Georgia History Center is on the right. The parking entrance is on the right adjacent to the History Center .
